Manufacturing Mechanical Equipment Technician work focuses on devising, fabricating, installing, calibrating, testing, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems involving the movement of physical components including: •Assisting mechanical engineers with developing technical solutions related to the operation and performance of mechanical devices and systems •Installing, calibrating, repairing, and upgrading components of mechanical manufacturing devices and systems •Devising, fabricating, and assembling new or modified mechanical components for manufacturing machinery and equipment •Conducting quality assurance/control tests and procedures An Experienced Para-Professional (S2) requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and may require vocational or technical education. May require the following proficiency: • Works under moderate supervision. • Problems are typically of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Fitter to join our Tomago NSW team. In this permanent full-time role, your core focus will be the disassembly and reassembly of Parts and Components in a safe and efficient manner. Reporting to the workshop supervisor, main responsibilities include:

  • Disassembly, repair and assembly of major components, ensuring work is carried out to meet all OEM specifications.
  • Recording information as required or as detailed in scopes of work/job routes, reporting any non-conformance,
  • Supply relevant & detailed information to enable the Estimator team to provide accurate quotations for the customer.
  • Ability to operate equipment & machinery as required in a safe manner.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to standards and practices.

  • Relevant Australian or Australian recognised Trade Qualifications (ie: Diesel Fitter, Heavy Diesel Mechanic, etc)
  • The ability to read and comprehend Safe Operating Procedures and apply the instructions within the workshop environment
  • A current Drivers Licence, Forklift Licence and Doggers Licence
