The purpose of this position is to be responsible for full cycle accounting & financial business partnering for the MS Canada & MS Texas operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Full Cycle Financial Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis
  1. Monthly financial statement preparation (IFRS)
  2. Managerial production & manufacturing accounting
  3. Financials commentary
  4. Budgeting
  5. Forecasting 3+9, 6+6, 9+3
  6. Business analysis
  7. Metrics & scorecard reporting
  8. Preparation of Sales Analysis (margin reports)
  9. GL account reconciliations, adjustments
  10. Business case preparations
  11. Financial business partner for operations
  12. PSP Calculations
  13. Year-end working paper preparation and liaison with auditors
  14. Systems controls and documentation for auditors
  15. Sales Tax Returns
  16. Property Tax support
  17. Creation of cash forecasts, treasury functions
  18. and analysis
  1. Bank Reconciliation for MS Canada

 

  1. Accounts Receivable
  1. A/R review
  2. Supervise credit granting, cash receipts and collection procedures
  3. Training in AR for new hires
  1. Accounts Payable –
  1. Signing A/P cheques
  2. Approve wire transfers
  1. Respond to corporate requests and inquiries from Head Office
  2. Respond to internal requests/inquiries in the areas of Accounting/HR/IT
  3. Other accounting related projects and support as the need arises.
  4. Manage team of three – general ledger, AP, AR.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  1. A bachelor’s degree with accounting or finance designation
  2. 5+ years of experience in the Accounting/Finance field is required 
  3. Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written is mandatory
  4. Strong knowledge of MS Office products is mandatory
  5. Must be computer savvy and understand network, software and some hardware.
  6. Must have be accurate and have high attention to detail
  7. Must be discreet with the handling of employees’ confidential information
  8. Manufacturing, production, job costing experience required
