POSITION SUMMARY:

The financial reporting manager is responsible for the worldwide consolidations of all entities.

He/She also works closely with the company Controllers and other finance personnel at subsidiaries in North America, South America and Australia.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Safety – conduct all activities in a safe manner, utilizing PPE and adhering to company policy and alerting others regarding potential concerns. Safety is # 1.
  1. Financial Statement Consolidation (20%)
    • Owns all aspects of the monthly consolidation process
    • Uploads data to Hyperion and validates accuracy of information
    • Reconciles differences between Hyperion and ERP figures
    • Performs currency translations
    • Prepares elimination entries
    • Provides Hyperion reporting and consolidation support to Australia team members
  2. Reporting (20%)
    • Creates monthly financial reporting books for CEO, CFO, COO and Corporate Controller
    • Coordinates gathering of various reporting information from subsidiary Controllers (inventory, intercompany, foreign currency balances, etc.) and enters in Hitachi’s Hi-GPS system.
    • Creates other reports for CEO, CFO, COO, Corporate Controller or Hitachi, as requested
  3. Hyperion (15%)
    • Updates plan and forecast templates for account number changes, actuals, etc. and sends to subsidiaries quarterly; works with subsidiaries to get plans and forecasts submitted and updated in Hyperion
    • Performs maintenance, as needed
    • Evaluates current Hyperion setup and processes looking for opportunities to increase efficiency and data quality
  4. Compliance (10%)
    • External audit support
      • Gathers and/or prepares miscellaneous documents to satisfy Corporate PBC requests from auditors
      • Obtains financial statement and note disclosure support/validation from subsidiary controllers
      • Prepares draft consolidated audited financial statements, including note disclosures, for the Americas
    • Completes and submits FBARs
    • Coordinates preparation of 1099 forms with external service provider
    • Prepares various business filings and ensures NRAI account is updated to include new filings
  5. Ad-Hoc Projects and Tasks (35%)
    • Compiles data requests
    • Solves accounting/finance related matters
    • Performs research
    • Communicates with subsidiaries
    • Supports Hitachi integration
    • Other
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

  1. Accounting degree (Bachelor’s)
  2. International consolidation experience, including foreign currency translation
  3. Financial reporting experience for multi-subsidiary entity
  4. Solid technical accounting skills in US GAAP
  5. Basic understanding of IFRS

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  1. Active CPA
  2. 5 years or more experience with” large” (Big 4 preferable) CPA firm
  3. Fluent in Spanish and/or Japanese
  4. Expert level knowledge of Hyperion
  5. Industry experience outside of public accounting
  6. Strong written and oral communication skills
  7. Able to adjust to different circumstances
  8. Works well under pressure
  9. Ability to multitask
