The manufacturing manager has oversight over all manufacturing, remanufacturing and repair functions.  The manager is responsible for the safety, quality and production of the shop.  As a member of the senior management team, this position has direct impact on employee engagement, customer satisfaction and company profitability.

  • Building Maintenance



  • Ensure everyone goes home safe, every day
  • Provide clear and effective communication with all employees
  • Coordinate, implement and enforce all safety, health and environmental rules and regulations
  • Promote a quality culture, reducing in-house rework and customer warranties through effective root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Reduce waste through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing concepts
  • Ensure we maintain an effective, productive workforce.
  • Hire, direct, evaluate, train, monitor and provide corrective action of our production staff
  • Direct production of new and remanufactured components to meet customer expectations
  • Support other Departments to meet customer expectations and company strategic plan
  • Support and assist in reverse engineering and manufacturing protocols for new products.
  • Ensure repair and manufacturing procedures are documented, current, communicated and followed
  • Ensure repair estimates are completed accurately and timely to meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain a “LEAN” environment, continuously improving processes and reducing waste.
  • Oversee all shop related expenses, equipment upkeep and capital budget



This position requires a solid understanding of manufacturing and salvage repair processes and equipment.  This includes knowledge in machining, welding, and heavy equipment component repair salvage operations.  Progressive experience in manufacturing as a skilled machinist, mechanic and welder is needed for the extensive knowledge and skills required of the position. A minimum of ten years of experience in a manufacturing and repair supervisory role, as well as experience in heavy equipment remanufacturing is required.

A bachelor's degree in industrial management, business or engineering is preferred but not required.



Technical Knowledge Requirements:

  • Metallurgy of carbon, high strength low alloy and alloy steels
  • Heat treatment of carbon and alloy steels including; Carbonization, thru hardening, stress relieving, induction hardening and tempering.
  • Current welding processes used in welding carbon, ductile iron, and alloy steels.
  • Strong machining and CNC background.
  • Industrial coatings and applications (Eutalloy, HVOF and Wire Arc Spray)
  • Industrial hard chrome plating and grinding
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Mining equipment system operation
  • Investigating and research of OEM supersedure and updates
  • Machine tools and practices
  • Use of precision measuring equipment (Metrology)
  • Hydraulic Seal design and applications


Skill Sets / Ability

The manager of manufacturing seeks the highest work ethic, demonstrating this first by example and second by enforcing this example.  The position is expected to capably lead the manufacturing department.  The candidate must be able to assess or develop training programs for the company, while ensuring all employees are properly trained and qualified for their position.  The position requires a fast paced and “active” managerial style.  The manager must be able to reach and handle materials weighing 10 lbs, while bending, crouching or moving freely around shop objects.
