POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of the Atlanta Senior Financial Analyst is to provide executives and business partners with detailed analysis of results, trends in the business, leading indicators and business analytics.  The Sr financial analyst will take the lead to prepare, compile, coordinate and analyze the annual budget and three-year strategy of the company in support of the management team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis
    • Perform monthly close (budget versus actuals) providing commentary on the variances by division and company
    • Tracking of various projects (real estate, ERP implementation, IT expenditures, various analytics) for H-E companies
    • Variance analysis a of PL budget versus plan, by division/department
    • Prepares, reviews and reports analytics to HCM (AR, inventory…) with high-level commentary
  2. Forecasting and Planning
    • Leads, designs, owns, reports on progress for total annual budgeting process for global H-E Parts International.  Summarizes and reports to executives on progress and makes recommendations.
    • Designs models and owns the processes around the quarterly consolidated forecast including P&L, cash flow, and supporting schedules/analyses. Ensure quality, timeliness, and accuracy.
  3. Business Analytics
    • Monitoring and reporting on elements net working capital, operating cash flow, Return on Net Assets (RONA), debt to EBITDA ratio and KPIs (DOH, DSO, DPO…)
    • Monitor Real Estate end of lease and prepare general managers for renewal or re-location
    • Responsible for monthly customer and analysis from Hyperion and COGNOS
    • Take leadership role to migrate consolidated reporting from Hyperion to COGNOS during ERP implementation.
  4. Business Partnering
    • Prepare presentations for Senior Management (Monthly Business Reviews, Board of Directors meetings, forecast review meetings, etc.)
    • Report and interpret business metrics and analysis
  5. Long-Tern Financial Planning/Strategy
    • Creation of the annual and multi-year strategic plan
  6. Mergers and Acquisitions
    • Provide analysis relating to due diligence and business valuation
  7. Conducting and summarizing ad hoc analyses

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or accounting
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in financial planning and analysis (preferred- experience in manufacturing)
    • Experience presenting and communicating with senior level (director and up)
  • Financial Skills
    • Clear understanding of accounting and interrelationship of financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow)
    • Expert knowledge of discounted cash flow (DCF), Net Present Value (NPV) and operating cash flow
    • Clear understanding of analytics and metrics around elements of working capital
  • Skills:
    • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Eager to learn and ask questions, teach, dependable and has strong work ethic
    • Ability to compile, analyze and summarize large quantities of data in Excel
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Can multi-task, juggle multiple projects, and effectively determine priorities
    • Strong computer skills in all Microsoft Suite (vlookups, sumif and pivot tables),
    • Ability to see the “big picture” in complex situations by linking information or by considering an abstract or long-term perspective; critically evaluates problems, situations or processes into its component parts, understands the nature of those parts and their relationship to one another
    • Ability to anticipate analysis needs and use an investigative approach
    • Demonstrates initiative, is creative, positive attitude, eager to learn, attention to details, strong organizational skills and takes ownership
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, Ability to lead and persuade
  • Ability to travel 10% (US and International)
  • Experience with multi-national companies in multi-currency environment, a plus
  • Experience with M&A due diligence and business valuations, a plus
  • Knowledge of Hyperion, COGNOS or Pronto is a plus
  • Fluent in Spanish or Japanese, a plus
